Best Mom Remedies For Kids’ Dry Skin
Dry skin is one of our concerns during winter. If we, adults, can get dry skin, more so our kids because their skin is more delicate that is why they are more susceptible to dry skin.
Why dry skin in winter?
My son is prone to dry skin even when he was still a baby especially during winter. I have noticed rashes on his back and inner thighs. So when we visited his pediatrician, I discussed my concerns.
The culprit is the cold, dry outdoor air and 24-hour, all day, all winter season indoor heating! It can rob our skin of its natural moisture in the winter.
I also bought a baby lotion with colloidal oatmeal and chamomile that gives a soothing relief.
We were also advised to use a humidifier which we followed right away. It also helped with his nasal congestion.
All these that I have mentioned, I can really attest to their effectiveness in treating my son’s dry skin. You can check this for more other products.
But I want to have new ideas now because my son is already 8 years old. Though his dry skin is milder now compared when he was a baby, it is still dry especially during winter. Now that he is a bit older, he already had excuses when I want to put some cream on his back and legs. He says that it is sticky or greasy and sometimes he says that it is cold or any other excuses just to evade the cream or lotion. 😀
How about you? Do you have a dry skin problem with your kids too? Any tip? Would you like to share it with us? I would love to hear from you!
