I have to tell you this, it is not just my son who loves pop-up books. Yes, I’m raising my hand, me too! So I bought more than I should. Because for me, they are not just books but also a piece of art. Can you relate mommies? I introduced the love for reading to my son while he was still young hoping that he develops the interest in reading as well.

Thank God he did! Of course, we started with those simple books for babies, mostly about animals, trains and nursery rhymes.

Then when he was a toddler, he got interested with pop-up books because of the visuals and the moving pictures amazed him. It made him so excited to open each page, looking and waiting as what will happen as he turns the pages, pulls the tab and opens whatever little door he can find somewhere in the page.

Seeing his anticipation and excitement sparks joy within me, aside from the fact that I, too, enjoy seeing the artistic pages. Up to now, I am still amazed as to how intricate all details are artistically crafted in every page of any pop-up books.

You can watch this video when my son was reading one of his first few pop-up books. Currently, he is into Harry Potter.

You will notice from my list below that most are created by Robert Sabuda and Matthew Reinhart. These two are both well-known pop-up artist. They both created critically-acclaimed and best-selling pop-up books.
